TALES
Alpacas are herd animals, and six to ten alpacas can live on one acre. It is a must to have more than one, or they will become depressed.
Alpacas are great for family livestock, and Joe and Lynn's Alpaca herd, represent most of the possible fiber fur colors. Every Spring, Alpaca fiber/fur is harvested, then most farmers send the fiber to mills, for yarn processing. Joe and Lynn's three children, Jarett age 9, Tori age 8, and MJ age 3 tend to their Alpacas, helping teach the children responsibility. Alpacas are known for their friendliness and they love playing together. For a treat, Joe puts a sprinkler in their field for the Alpacas to frolic in. TIPS Lynn says, "Our Alpacas are supplemented with a Willamette Valley feed, that is mixed especially for Alpacas, in this area. It keeps their fiber in good shape, and maintains their nutrient intake." Swimming Cats on TV
