Marie and Bingo, out enjoying Cottage Grove.
Bingo is a four year old Shitzu, and Standard Poodle mix.
An obviously rare breed!
TALES
Marie moved to Cottage Grove, from Coos Bay, after the recent loss of her husband. She feels that living with her daughter's family is a blessing. Marie says, "A year ago, I never realized how nice it would be, to have a pet like Bingo. He encourages me, with his big brown eyes, and happy spirit, to get me out walking. An extra benefit is...Bingo and I have both shed a few pounds.
Since my husband passed away, Bingo has become my best friend and pal. When I say "WALK," Bingo becomes visibly excited by jumping up, and barking. Then he stretches, it must be doggy talk for, "Hurry up!" Bingo loves wearing his red base ball cap. The cap protects his eyes from the sun's UV rays, and seeing his furry little ears sticking through it is the cutest sight. Bingo also enjoys running with Marie's family when they go bicycling. They have a bicycle cart with them, so when Bingo tires, he can ride in style! TIPS
Marie says, "Our family loves taking Bingo to the park, to play fetch with his ball. It is good fun and exercise for the entire family."
NOTE: Since dogs were domesticated, they have been chasing sticks. As much as people and dogs love to do it, fetching sticks is not safe. Injury takes place when the stick jabs into a dog's throat, or pieces of bark stick in their throat.
Often sticks shatter and then, act like a porcupine with slivers throughout the dog's mouth.
Consider purchasing rubber toys, at local stores, that will not harm your pets.
A Tips 'n' Tales reader recently threw a stick, it jammed into the ground, the dog 'caught' it, the stick stabbed his throat and it cost her $400 for repairs!
An approved safe toy is cheaper!
