Second to Second
June 23, 2008
By Mary Ellen "Angel Scribe"

When you awake you have no idea what your day will bring.

Second to second...things can change.

A phone fall, an accident, a death, a birth, a chance encounter.  Life altering moments happen in a second.

But are they defining moments or are they already preplanned moments of our destiny?

Who decides what happens is good or bad?

An unexpected divorce may seem bad, but maybe it is the door opener to an even brighter future.

A job loss may appear bad, but is it when months later a better more joyful job manifests?

Some times what appears bad at the time is really a Divine prompting to move us forward, to better things.  Many of us would never have made the change, stuck in familiarity and comfort, no matter how difficult the situation.

When a solid door is slammed in our path, we are left with no other option than looking around and using our brains.

Often, the difficult days of our life and memory are the ones that we benefit the most from.

They bond us together as family, and they become fodder for future humor, and they are appreciated for opening our eyes, hearts and compassion for others.

They make us grow in character and understanding in ways that were impossible otherwise.

May the sun shine on your life and bless you 100 different ways.  And may you understand that the dark days wont last forever and the sun soon will come out again.

All from the Light,
Amen

444 Story
Cleveland, Ohio

Shortly after my dad passed away, I began waking up at 4:44 as did other members of my family.

Since then, 444 has come up many times, in church songs, lottery numbers and dreams.

When we talk to my dad, we usually wake up at 4:44.

Recently my son-in-law was involved in a serious car accident and what follows is just unbelievable.

When we arrived at the hospital we were told he was admitted at 14:44.

My daughter looked at his cell phone and he had the alarm set for 4:44 a.m. that morning.

She looked at his other messages, and he had one at 4:44 the day before.

After his first surgery, we were going into the parking garage and a car pulled out with the license plate 4444.

We went to Guardian Angel Church and one of us looked at our watch and it was 4:44.  Then, they played my dad's favorite song, On Eagles Wings.

After my son-in-law got off the respirator and was able to speak he told his brother that his golf scores on the day of the accident were 40 and 44.

So, do you think it's a little weird?

Good things always happen though, so when all these 4's started appearing, we knew that my dad was taking care of him.

I went to the cemetery to visit dad's grave and that night, before I went to sleep, I thanked him for watching over my son-in-law and I said "If you want to wake me up at 4:44 that's okay, if not, that's okay, too."

Well, I woke up at 4:44!

I truly believe in angels and I know my dad is one of them!

111 Story
Joplin, Missouri

My birthday is the 11th month, the 11th day.

Numbers and their sequence has always held great significance to me.

Last week, on my way home all the traffic was at a stand still.

I was so far back, that I didn't know if it was road construction or what.

As I sat there I "happened" (yeah right) to glance down at the trip meter on my car.  It read 444.

I said, "Hmm Angels are near" and I took a moment to honor, thank and offer them love.

As traffic began to slowly move, a good citizen was directing traffic around a motorcycle accident.

Once again, I thanked the Angels for being near to offer comfort and assistance.
