Award Winners
Firefighter Jake, Volunteer of the Year.
EMT Dave, forty years of service award.
Mary Ellen "Angel Scribe" award winner.
Firefighter Howard, answering most alarms. Dearest Readers, Having a friend like Atira is fun! Any time we are together, on the phone or in person, is like time spent in Disneyland. Everything is magical! Atira hears and sees Angels, don't we all wish we did! Having a friend who does, is the next best thing to seeing them yourself!
Last Friday evening, I phoned Atira and before I could say "Halo," she said, "Don't say anything! I just phoned you, and when there was no answer, I thought that you must have gone to the movies. But my Angel, Dom, said, "No, she is out getting an award."
I argued with Dom saying that the Fire Department banquet was tomorrow night, and he responded, "No, it is tonight, she is out getting an award!""
Stunned! Speechless! Again! How could they both know, when even I had no idea about winning an award. Atira once again proved that Angels are real and know what we are doing as they watch over us.
For the banquet, I'd created a slide presentation from thousands of photos taken of Fire Department activities, personal, and emergencies. Being presented with the prestigious Tracy Arnold Memorial Emergency Service Award was an honor!
This award pays tribute to Chief Arnold, who demonstrated his commitment to the fire department and community through his dedication and service, and is given to someone as recognition for a significant, positive impact on the fire and life safety. I was selected for volunteering as their support staff photographer and forwarding the photographs to newspapers and TV media. Many made front page of newspapers, and TV news. The photographs record the department's history, personnel and events.
Not bad for someone who just bought a camera, two years ago, and wanted to do something positive with it!
May this newsletter inspire you to share your gifts, the things you love to do, to brighten the lives of others....and you in the process. You will feel like a WINNER!
Angelic Blessings, Mary Ellen ^I^ TODAY
by Mary Ellen "Angel Scribe" and her Angels
Be of Service. Give your life dimension and meaning. You do not have to venture to far off continents to devote your life to others...what is close to you? Who is near by your home that could benefit from your gifts, talents, energy and service? Can you carry the elderly or frail neighbor's garbage can from their curb to back yard? If so do. Can you carry their mail from the street to their door? When was the last time you pulled weeds from, or trimmed, another's yard? Did you remove snow along a walkway to help others? There are things you do for yourself, that you can easily do for another to make their life flow easier, smoother and safer.
If you are not physically able to do any of the above, phone a shut in friend, your voice maybe the only one they have heard or talked to in a week. Just letting a stressed or irritated driver into the flow of traffic helps everyone. Do you have a talent, a gift, skill or hobby? Where can you go and help others brighten their day, and at the same time give your life direction, purpose, a deeper meaning and satisfaction?
If you can't think of one, ask God/Spirit/The Angels to show you were your life can touch another's life.
And...then...pay attention. Your prayer of purpose will match another's prayer of need. And you will both be smiling, and your hearts will glow with the warmth of love, and your life's purpose revealed to inspire others. Go and Shine your Light. Amen.

Finding JOY on a Snowy Day
One Moment
By Mary Ellen "Angel Scribe" www.AngelScribe.com The cold winter air brushes your cheek, and even though it moves on, your cheek still feels the coldness. The same as love. The gentleness of it wraps you in a warm glow, and even after years, that one moment continues to warm your heart.

Snow Smile Wednesday
February 6, 2008 Maryanne's newest book, THE AGE OF MIRACLES, is a delight, describing the transition from youth to our place of wisdom in the world.
She is a one person cheerleader for us to jump to our destiny!
Written with her beautiful poetic style, resounding with simplistic wisdom, and encouraging ideas to prompt us forward to be the best we can be.
Marianne is one of my all time favorite authors, and this book is as amazing and inspirational as the others!
Also, I am thinking of attending the Hay House I CAN DO IT event...are you going? Fascinating inspirational authors speaking, one right after the other!
